Congratulations to our 2021 Marshall County Blueberry Queen, Jaela Faulkner, and her court!
Jaela is the 18-year-old daughter of Joel and Justina Faulkner of Bourbon. She has 1 sibling, Jocelynn. Jaela is a 2021 graduate of Triton JR/ SR High School and will be attending Manchester University in the fall to study Pre-Occupational Therapy.
At Triton, Jaela was President of the Science Club, Vice-President of the Student Council was an active member in Art Club, Spirit Club, National Honor Society, and participated in Tritons Distinguished Young Women 2021. She was also part of the Bourbon Bible Church Youth Group. Jaela participated in Varsity Volleyball, Varsity Cheerleading, and Varsity Track and Field.
Outside of school, Jaela volunteers in her churchs nursery, and Junior Church program. She enjoys oil painting landscapes, walking her dog at surrounding parks, trying authentic cuisine and making trips to Starbucks with her mom and sister.
Jaelas favorite part of the Marshall County Blueberry Festival is seeing people from across the nation come together to take in and celebrate all that our amazing community has to offer. She loves the array of food vendors, craftsmen, fireworks as well as some amazing blueberry donuts!
2021 Scholarship Winners
The Marshall County Blueberry Festival® is proud to award two different sets of scholarships each year. The first is the Dick Johnson Memorial Scholarship. We are honoring two years of scholarship winners this year due to COVID we were unable to honor the 2020 winners last year. Our 2020 scholarship winners were Thomas Dolan and Cameron Riddle both graduates from Plymouth High School and Haley May who graduated from Triton High School. This years 2021 scholarship winners are Jesus Gama, Nancy Garcia Pena and Drew Harrell all graduates of Plymouth High School. Each recipient received a $500 scholarship.
The second set of scholarships are awarded at the Miss Blueberry Pageant. Jeala Faulkner, 2021 Miss Blueberry, received a $1250.00 scholarship, 1st runner up Ivy Powell received a $750.00 scholarship, and 2nd runner up Delanie Groves, received a $500.00 scholarship. These scholarships are funded from the proceeds made at the All Things Blueberry booth located by information booth #1 during the festival along with any funds designated for the Scholarship Fund, throughout the year.
While you are visiting the festival, please stop by the booth, check out all the Blueberry items and help support the annual scholarships totaling $4000.00.
